Edwards Abstract and Title Co. is pleased to recognize the Rockstar of the Week, Velma Gallegos, Title Examiner in the  Cameron County title operations. She is housed in the Brownsville Office located at 1075 Paredes Line Road. Her career in the title insurance industry started at Southern Texas Title on December 8, 1993.  Like many in the industry, Velma learned the ins and outs of title insurance by working in different positions. She started as a file clerk and worked herself up to examination. Being a Title Examiner is very interesting and involves very detailed work including reviewing surveys, examining records, reviewing liens, etc. It can also be challenging and yet rewarding when the chain of title (ownership) is determined. Velma has many qualities that make her an outstanding employee. According to her immediate supervisor, Dalia Salinas, Manager of Title Operations Cameron County Division “Velma is very dependable and her work is exemplary. I can always count on Velma. It is a privilege to have her in our team!” These days, most companies certainly can’t count on long-time employees such as Velma who has dedicated over 37 years to the industry. She is meticulous in her work, cares about producing an accurate examination and she takes pride in her work.
